CACR SPRING 2017 Conference
CACR held our Spring 2017 Conference at Manchester Community College on Friday, June 9, 2017. The day began with a presentation from guest speaker Amber Rich, of Mongoose Research, who gave a presentation on the use of Text Messaging Services in higher education.
Following the presentation, attendees separated into breakout sessions. These included: "Choosing a Catalog Vendor" with Karri Van Blarcom (Wesleyan University), "Emerging Practices and Supporting Transgender Students" with Crystal Nieves (CCSU), and "Doing More with Less" with Keith Gauvin (WCSU.)
After a break for lunch, afternoon guest speaker Professor Jessica Eckstein (WCSU) gave a presentation on Good Communication in a Digital Age. During her presentation, Professor Eckstein discussed many do's and don't's of electronic communication within higher education.
Finally, attendees separated for another round of breakout sessions. These included: "Veteran's Affairs" with VA Representatives, "Emerging Practices and Supporting Transgender Students" with Crystal Nieves (CCSU), and "Title IV Compliance & Cooperation with Financial Aid" with Melissa Stephens and Keith Gauvin (WCSU).
